The American Libraries collection includes material contributed from across the United States. Institutions range from the Library of Congress to many local public libraries. As a whole, this collection of material brings holdings that cover many facets of American life and scholarship into the public domain. Significant portions of this collection have been generously sponsored by Microsoft, Yahoo!, The Sloan Foundation, and others.

C: 9.20 - Kwok Mang Ho Kwok, in presenting his plastic bags exploration, had about 50 people running the street simultaneously in rain. Each holding full blown plastic bags, creating sounds and light from their activity.

R: 10.05  Ken Friedman Ken Friedman  created a pattern of lights with candles placed on the gallery floor. He worked in darkness inside Storefront, while a captive audience watched his actions from outside. His way of exiting from the performance was to call a taxi from inside, and run past the audience to disappear in the taxi.

J: 9.27  Phoebe Legere Phoebe Legere  used the people inside the gallery to chat "no more war" under her direction. The sound of the chant, travelling  outside, awoke the curiosity of the neighboring  people, establishing the performance's direct contact with the community.
